Slowly but surely, I’m making progress on learning to use Python in MODO to help create and automate things. My next little project is porting my old CityGen script to MODO. Simple enough, right? Well, as I started doing that, it was going fine but it didn’t seem right. It didn’t seem like the MODO way to do this. Instead of duplicating all of these buildings to make a city, why not use replicators? It could end up making it much more interactive.
So what started as a simple port has turned into a little more. Below is a screen capture of it working in MODO. Because of using replicators, almost anything can be changed in a non-destructive way. I’ve posted the source code so far over at Github, feel free to check it out. Next steps will be implementing a UI and making this into a full kit.
